Bead Embellishments

 

                 

 

Needs: PSP optional are your own beadsamples.

 BEAD

  1. Open a transparent 75 x 75 pixel image.
  2. Go to effects – artistic effects – balls and bulbs.

  1. Click with your magic wand outside the bal.
  2. Invert selection.
  3. New layer fill with colour of your choice, I picked green, for my example is a frog.
  4. Deselect and drag this layer down by left clicking on the layer while dragging in down.
  5. Merge visible layers, cut and paste as new image.
  6. Export this image as a picture tube.
  7. If you want different colours, then colour in the bead, or make new beads for echt colour.

 

Now, let’s make the beaded frog embellishment.

  1. Open a 800 x 800 pixel image.
  2. Copy and paste the frog into PSP, this will be your pattern.
  3. In picture tubes find your bead. Try the settings below, but adjust them if the size of your bead turned out just a little bigger or smaller.

  1. Now let’s make our frog by looking at the pattern, this is a very precise job. Put every line of beads on a new layer, so that everything can be moved if necessary.

 

  1. The legs: On a new layer, make a diagonal line with two beads.

  1. Duplicate this layer – mirror image.
  2. On yet another new layer use three beads to form a diagonal line and repeat step 6.

  1. The front legs are done the same, look at you example carefully.
  2. Then, add feet and eyes.

 

 

  1. Adding a drop shadow is optional.
  2. Now we’ll make the jump ring.
  3. New layer, enter figure 0 (zero) cursive. Floating.
  4. Give it a metal effect or use BLade Pro on it.
  5. Now select your eraser and erase part of the jump ring to make it look natural, like it’s attached to the bead.
  6. Merge visible layers and optionally adjust the size of your image.
  7. Save as .png file.
