Ric Rac

 

 

 

there a lot of tutorials who teach you how to make ric-racs, I used this one.

 

 

  1. Open a new image – transparancy – 2450 x 300, so you have enough work space.

 

  1. Foreground darker then your backgroundcolor

 

 

  1. Select your rectangle shape no mark in vector.

 

  1. draw a rectangle like this.

 

 

  1. select your magic wand and select the dark border.

 

  1. Effects – texture-effects – blinds with these settings:  Colour the light colour.

 

 

  1. Now we going to make the ric rac - effects - deformation - wave with these settings.

 

now the ends are ugly, grap your selection tool - rectangle and select these ugly ends, click delete.

  1. Now your ric rac is not big enough, no problems take this selection tool

 

 

  1. now your ric rac is been selected push the end to the edge of your image, Do you find your ric rac to broad just push the square in the middle above till you are satisfied.

 

  1. We can save this ric rac as png file, but i want to give it a texture.
  2. select none.
  3. no click with your magic wand in the ric rac.
  4. effects- texture - choice one
  5. Now you can give it a dropshadow
  6. Save it as PNG file.

 

Variations

 

  1. Make your ric-rac until point 11
  2. transparency ric rac: Click with your magic wand in your ric rac – make from the selection a new layer (right click make layer of selection), select your first layer and click delete. Go back to your second layer and set the transparency between 30-50, merge visible layers and save as png.file.
  3. Pattern: Click with your magic wand in your ric rac  fill with a pattern of your choise. give your ric rac a texture of your choise.
  4. Weave pattern. you need eye candy for this one. Click with your magic wand in your ric rac. Effects– eye candy – weave with these settings.
